We are excited to share that American achieved its goal of returning to profitability during the 2022 performance year.
Last year, as travel demand was returning after the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, American adjusted the 2022 profit-sharing calendar to run from April 1, 2022, through March 31, 2023, to better align that window with our anticipated business recovery.
As a result, we accrued $211 million to our 2022 profit-sharing pool, and next month, we will make a profit-sharing payment to our team for the first time in three years.
This profit-sharing award is the direct result of your collective hard work and dedication to our goals and will be just one of our great milestones. More importantly, as a company, we have positioned ourselves for a strong financial future and are headed in the right direction to remain profitable for years to come. Thank you for all your incredible work in 2022, and congratulations!
For U.S.- and Canada-based team members, payouts will be awarded in a special paycheck that will be deposited into your main bank account on file on May 26, 2023. (By May 25, pay statements should be visible in Pay Portal for U.S.-based team members and in Dayforce for Canada-based team members.) For other internationally based team members, payouts will be included in their last June 2023 paycheck.
