JOINT SAFETY COMMITTEE REPORT
FOR FEBRUARY 2006
The Joint Safety Committee convened and the following items were discussed:
AFW Mission Statement:
To become a world class organization with the vision and dedication to promote a safe and injury free work place by providing timely training and communication to all AFW employees.
Closed Items:
1) All items have been closed since last report except for two items which were moved to APC.
a. Bay 3 - Engineers have the design unit it is a matter of timing to shut down right side of dock.
b. HEP A Filter - this is done just waiting to change the work cards.
New Items:
1) The whole base is about to start the EAGLES (Employees At Ground Level Engaging In Safety) Program. This was created by the members in the Components Shops in the Hangar. I think they did a great job in this program to get everyone on this base to be aware of unsafe practices.
2) VPP stands for Voluntary Protection Programs. The EAGLES Program is in direct relations with what OSHA wants for the VPP. We are in the process of completing the application for OSHA's VPP.
3) The new number for all emergencies is 224-0911.
4) All items that have been presented at the JSC are items that were fixed and handled by the Safety Circle in that area.
