May 2006

On May 29, 2006, PBS TV stations throughout the country are presenting "The March of the BONUS ARMY". This will show how veterans had to march on Washington D.C. to show support for payments to veterans for their service in WW1.

Congress had promised this bonus for those veterans, but was not going to pay them until 1945.

So in 1932, veterans from across the country marched on Washington, built a small city, made music, and died in their determination to receive their money before those very veterans died. After this time that veterans presented their demands to congress, the basis for the G.I. Bill was formed and built on.

Memorial Day, May 29th, 2006

Remembrance of the nations fallen soldiers and sailors will happen at 3 P.M. on Memorial day at 3 P.M. A moment of silence and remembrance nation wide is planned to honor the fallen. We at American Airlines have a great debt to forward for our military brothers that have gone before us. We have a great company with many jobs that are supported by the freedoms America allows. Show your respect to the veterans that have served.
