What’s new: As of Jan. 1, 2024, Fidelity Investments will be handling the administrative services for your American-sponsored spending accounts. In the coming weeks, we’ll share reminders of upcoming key deadlines.
Why it matters: We want to help you prepare for this transition, so mark your calendar for these milestones:
📅 HSA consent deadline, Dec. 8: If you have a health savings account (HSA) and would like to include your account in American’s group transfer to Fidelity, you must provide consent by this date. Read more about this and other actions you must take in the next couple weeks.
📅 HRA blackout, Dec. 9, 2023–Jan. 10, 2024: To help ensure a smooth transition to Fidelity, there will be a blackout period for health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs). During this time, you will not have access to your HRA credits. Read more about how this affects your access to your HRA.
📅 Commuter account election window, Dec. 1–15: Enroll in a new commuter account for Jan. 2024 by Dec. 15 on NetBenefits.
